Surprisingly, Oppenheimer is not included on the final Oscar shortlist.

The Cillian Murphy-starring movie Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, will not receive an Oscar consideration in the Visual Effects category because it did not make the final shortlist.

Twenty films will advance to the next phase of voting, which is scheduled to start next week, according to Variety.

These movies include: Godzilla: Minus One, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Killers of the Flower Moon, The Marvels, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Barbie, The Boys in the Boat, The Creator, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Napoleon, Nyad, Poor Things, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire, Society of the Snow, and Wonka.

On December 21, the new shortlist—which will now consist of just 10—will be revealed.

On January 23, the final five nominations will be revealed in advance of the Oscars ceremony on March 10.

In addition to Oppenheimer, notable omissions from the Visual Effects category include Ferrari, Shazam, The Little Mermaid, Blue Beetle, and The Flash! The Gods' wrath.

The 96th Academy Awards have been revealed to start one hour earlier than normal, with the main event debuting at 7 p.m. eastern time.
