Mattingly has not played in any World Series as a player or coach, nor as the manager for his teams.

The Blue Jays fired Charlie Montoyo as manager on June 13th and promoted John Schneider to the interim post.

Toronto was in an appearance in the playoffs, as a wildcard but fell in both of its games in the opening round against Seattle.
